Getting To Know Brickell
When people think of Miami, they usually picture South Beach — spring breakers, hotels, and that whole scene. But for me, the part of the city that really stands out is Brickell. It’s where the locals live and work — the city’s financial district, filled with high-rises, rooftop restaurants, and cafés on every corner, but it still has an easy, neighborhood feel. This city is always happening — I mean, from morning until night there are people out on every block. Think New York City meets Europe, with its own Miami edge. It’s that blend of constant energy and everyday life that makes Brickell feel different from any other city
What makes Brickell Unique
Brickell is a melting pot in the truest sense. People from all over Latin America call it home — Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, and Cuba all have a presence here. You feel it the moment you walk around: in the food, the conversations, and the rhythm of daily life. Spanish is just as common as English here.
And it’s not just Latin America. There’s a blend of European, Middle Eastern, Haitian, and Asian cultures too, all woven into the neighborhood in a way that feels natural. Few places in the U.S. feel this international — and that’s what makes Brickell so special.
Cuban Coffee

Whenever I travel, I love to explore the local coffee spots. The best part about Brickell is that you get authentic Cuban coffee — strong, rich, and full of flavor. You’ll find it at small walk-up windows called ventiditas throughout the neighborhood. Most people order a cortado, a mix of espresso and steamed milk that’s smooth but still has that signature Cuban kick. It’s simple, classic, and part of what makes Brickell feel so distinct.
The Food Scene
Brickell has an incredible mix of food from all over the world. It’s some of the best food I’ve had. The chefs are some of the best, and the diversity of food here is unmatched. You’ll find everything from high-end dining to small local spots — sushi, Italian, Latin, and everything in between. What stands out most is the quality — fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and dishes that always feel thoughtfully made.
Brickell's Lifestyle Balance

Brickell has mastered that wellness-meets-lifestyle balance. There’s a day side and a nightlife side. The day side is all about movement and wellness — people heading to Pilates or Barry’s, grabbing green juice, or meeting friends for açaí bowls after their morning workout. One of the things that really surprised me was how healthy and active people are here.
Then there’s the night side — rooftop dinners, late-night drinks by the bay, and that unmistakable Miami energy that carries through the streets. The same people you see at morning workouts are out again at night, social and connected. Brickell somehow makes both worlds work effortlessly.
Why It Stands Out
Brickell isn’t the Miami most people imagine — it’s the one people actually live in. It’s global, diverse, and full of life,. You can grab Cuban coffee in the morning, eat some of the best food in the city by night, and walk everywhere in between. It’s the mix of culture, energy, and everyday routine that gives Brickell its character — and why it’s the part of Miami I always come back to.
